GF083 - FINE SCOTTISH 8 DAY MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK
By John Douglas of Galston, Ayreshire. c1810 A beautiful and high quality mahogany cased clock with typical Scottish style to the hood, and original glass to hood door.
the case inlaid with boxwood stringing, well polished.
The dial has a floral display to the arch, and flowers and thistles to the corners, and signed by the maker.
The original steel hands are of the 'diamond' pattern, also with matching pointers for the date and seconds.
Key to case door, and rare decorative painted cast pendulum bob.
The clock has a West Country connection, as it was bought by the last owner in 1973 from Harwoods clock shop in Dunster, Somerset, so it has travelled far in its life!
