GF100 - 'OLD FATHER TIME' AUTOMATA LONGCASE BY RICH OF BRIDGWATER.

A rare Automata clock by either Andrew or Abraham Rich c1814-1835. The dial signed 'Rich Fecit Bridgewater.

The clock has a superb painted 12" arched dial with early styled flower paintings in the arch framing a Father Time figure which rocks with the beat of the clock.
The ornate brass hands include a second hand and date wheel.
The dial has been recently professionally restored and looks stunning.

The clock is housed in a mahogany case with casnted sides to the trunk, a long door with stringing and inlay, and a hood flanked by fluted columns and corinthian brass capitals, and carved datail below the tall swan neck pediment.

Prior to my ownership this clock had been in the same family for at least 80 years, having been in Ireland as well as Somerset.

An interesting Somerset clock ready to display in your home.
