BR023 - ANTIQUE FRENCH PORCELAIN FIGURAL CLOCK BY STIFFEL & CARTIER WITH GLASS DOME.
Dating from around 1850, this spectacular French clock is mounted in a stunning and ornate porcelain case surrounded by branches, leaves and flowers.
The Base is surmounted by a separate statue of a boy and his sweetheart accompanied by their faithful dog, and backed by leaves and a tree trunk.
The clock is inscribed Stiffel & Cartier, Paris, the movement being an 8-day pendulum movement with count wheel strike on a small bell.
The whole is housed under an original glass dome on a wooden base.
Standing over 24" high in its dome, and 16" wide, this is a grand and ornate antique piece.
It has survived in remarkable condition, with only two leaves having small chips that I can see.
