GF091 - ROBERT SUMMERHAYES, ILMINSTER AND TAUNTON

An 8-day Oak cased painted dial longcase clock by this well documented Somerset clockmaker.
Born in 1784, Robert Summerhayes worked in Coombe St Nicholas, then Ilminster, before moving to Taunton in about 1824 where the majority of his clocks were made.
The dial has been nicely restored featuring geometric designs to the corners, and is housed in a cottage style oak case of medium proportions.
Complete with 2 cast iron weights, brass pendulum, lock to the case, and striking the hours on a bell.
A nice example of a local Somerset clock.

Height 76"
